Bhubaneswar: Insurance, as a critical pillar of financial services, plays a vital role in driving economic growth.
To enhance insurance penetration in Odisha, Satyajit Tripathy, Member Secretary of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), met with Anu Garg, Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary, in the presence of the Principal Secretary of Finance.
Given that the state’s insurance penetration is below the national average, discussions focused on strategies to bridge this gap and achieve the vision of “Insurance for All” by 2047.
A roadmap was proposed to convene the inaugural meeting of the State Level Insurance Committee (SLIC), involving all key stakeholders. Senior officials from both IRDAI and the State Government participated in the discussions.
