Bhubaneswar: In view of the upcoming visit of President Droupadi Murmu to Odisha, a high-level preparatory meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Pradeep Jena.
Jena directed the concerned District Magistrates and departmental officials to supervise all the preparations before the President’s visit. He emphasized on making the President’s program flawless.
President Murmu is scheduled to visit Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda and Sambalpur districts for three days from November 20 to 22 this month and participate in various programs.
In her second phase tour, she will reach Bhubaneswar on the afternoon of November 26 and will attend the ‘Boita Bandana’ program in Paradip in the next day.
Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Home Department Additional Chief Secretary D.K. Singh, Police DG Sunil Kumar Bansal, Twin City Police Commissioner Soumendra Priyadarshi, Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh, and top officials of the Intelligence department were present in the meeting.
The Chief Secretary directed the concerned authorities to ensure that all the programme venues should be equipped with uninterrupted power supply and generators.
Escorting the President to various event venues, her accommodation, security arrangements, responsibilities of program coordination officers, carcade arrangements, barricading arrangements on the roads during her visit, transportation arrangements, food inspection, road maintenance, medical care, sanitation, drinking water supply, stage preparation, audience seating arrangements, required number of passes were the subject of discussion in the meeting.
The meeting also featured a detailed discussion regarding media dissemination and internet and Wi-Fi facilities at the event venues. A control room will operate in the home department.
