Puri: Odisha Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja on Sunday visited Puri to review ongoing preparations for the annual Rath Yatra, scheduled to be held on June 27, 2025.
During his visit, Ahuja assessed various aspects of the festival’s arrangements, including the construction of the three grand chariots for Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra. He interacted with the chief Vishwakarma (divine architect) overseeing the work and expressed satisfaction with the progress.
“I reviewed the construction work today. The preparations are moving ahead swiftly and systematically. We are confident that the chariots will be completed on time, with Mahaprabhu’s blessings,” Ahuja told reporters. “The state government is making extensive arrangements to ensure that the Rath Yatra is conducted peacefully. Like previous years, we expect lakhs of devotees to converge in Puri and all necessary steps are being taken to manage the crowd and logistics effectively.”
The Chief Secretary also inspected the ongoing painting and restoration work at the Singhadwar (Lion’s Gate) of the Shree Jagannath Temple.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring a smooth and spiritually fulfilling experience for devotees, stating that all departments are working in close coordination to make this year’s Rath Yatra a grand success.
