Bhubaneswar: A secretaries-level review meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg was held at Kharavel Bhavan here on Wednesday to assess departmental performance, review key initiatives, and outline future priorities of the state government.

The meeting was attended by Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary Deoranjan Kumar Singh, along with senior officials including Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Commissioners, and Secretaries of various departments. Koraput Collector Manoj Satyawan Mahajan joined virtually and made a detailed presentation, while IAS probationers of the 2024 Odisha cadre batch also attended as part of their training exposure.

At the outset, the Chief Secretary reviewed notable works undertaken by departments in March, commending the Skill Development Department for Odisha’s top performance in the India Skills 2025–26 competition. She also lauded the successful “Ganati-Manati” exercise relating to the Ratna Bhandar of Jagannath Temple and appreciated the officials involved in the process.

The meeting discussed the outreach programme “Ame Janiba Ama Budget,” aimed at public awareness of budgetary provisions, with a decision to continue such initiatives. The Finance Department and the Information & Public Relations Department were praised for their efforts in taking budget information to the grassroots.

Officials informed that onboarding on the i-GOT Karmayogi Bharat platform under the “Sadhana Saptaha” training initiative has risen from 95 per cent to 98 per cent. The Chief Secretary appreciated the role of the Gopabandhu Administrative Academy in significantly improving participation and training engagement.

The Department of Odia Language, Literature and Culture, along with other departments, was also commended for the successful statewide observance of “Odia Pakhya.”

During the meeting, the Chief Minister’s Office presented the design of the proposed “Uplabdhi Portal,” which will enable departments to upload and monitor monthly achievements and progress, facilitating real-time review at both departmental and CMO levels.

Principal Secretary, Finance, Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra highlighted the importance of Centrally Sponsored Schemes in supporting capital investments in the state and emphasised optimal utilisation of central funds.

Principal Secretary, Works, Sanjay Kumar Singh presented a roadmap of 25 major projects, detailing long-term measures to strengthen road infrastructure, which is expected to boost connectivity and tourism.

Focusing on district-level planning, Koraput Collector Mahajan presented “Koraput Sparks X,” outlining 25 key initiatives aligned with the “Viksit Odisha” vision. The presentation highlighted efforts in livelihood generation, agriculture, expansion of Koraput coffee and spices, fisheries, floriculture, handloom development, airport expansion, mega drinking water projects, tourism, and road and bridge infrastructure.

The meeting also reviewed organising the “Parab” festival in Koraput and emphasised accelerating industrial development in the district alongside sustainable and institutional growth.
