Bhubaneswar: In a significant step towards promoting inclusive economic growth and industrial development, the 145th meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) approved 23 industrial investment proposals on Tuesday.
The meeting was chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg at Lok Seva Bhawan. The approved projects entail a total investment of Rs 4,510.65 crore and are projected to create approximately 10,122 direct employment opportunities, bolstering Odisha’s industrial landscape and job creation drive.
These initiatives span diverse sectors, including wood-based industries, chemicals and green industries, apparel and technical textiles, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, manufacturing and engineering, aluminium and steel downstream industries, electrical equipment, food and agro-processing, gemstones and jewellery, infrastructure, IT and IT-enabled services (ITES), and tourism and hospitality.
The projects will be established across 11 districts: Balasore, Bolangir, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kalahandi, Keonjhar, Khordha, Koraput, Puri, Sambalpur, and Sundargarh.Key Highlights by Sector:Forest and Wood-based: Century Plyboards (India) Limited will set up a manufacturing facility in Koraput with ₹870.82 crore investment, generating 1,000 jobs.
Chemicals and Green Industry: Pidilite Industries Limited will establish a unit in Balasore (₹61 crore, 88 jobs). Paradeep Phosphates Limited will build a sulphuric acid plant in Jagatsinghpur (₹425 crore).
Apparel and Technical Textiles: Sonaselection India Limited’s garment unit in Khordha (₹130 crore, 1,858 jobs). Alphatex Private Limited’s technical textile unit in Khordha (₹180 crore, 1,050 jobs).
Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices: Alteus Life Limited’s pharmaceutical unit in Cuttack (₹236.90 crore, 549 jobs). Shreeji Imaging and Diagnostic Centre Private Limited will set up a specialised medical facility in Khordha.
Manufacturing and Engineering: Nipha Limited’s agricultural equipment facility in Khordha (₹164 crore, 300 jobs).
Aluminium Downstream: Odisha Special Grade Alumina Ltd will establish a unit in Koraput.
Steel and Metal Downstream: Major projects include Scan Steels Limited and Llenroc Ventures in Sundargarh; Siddhiriddhi International Private Limited’s expansion in Keonjhar (₹610 crore, 1,500 jobs); Sundar Steel Industries’ scrap processing unit in Cuttack; and Navprakriti Green Energies Private Limited’s metal extraction facility in Balasore (₹105 crore, 540 jobs).
Electrical Equipment: Abhisek Contech (India) Private Limited’s manufacturing unit in Khordha.
Food Processing: Coastal Biotech Private Limited’s agro-processing unit in Kalahandi (₹350 crore, 500 jobs).
Gemstones and Jewellery: Nuvo Aeon Diamond and Jewellery Private Limited’s expansion in Khordha (₹243.50 crore).
Infrastructure: Chalah Infratech Private Limited’s logistics park in Sambalpur (₹174.10 crore).
IT and ITES: PricewaterhouseCoopers Services LLP’s technology delivery centre in Khordha (₹60 crore, 640 high-skilled jobs).
Tourism and Hospitality: Multiple projects in Koraput, Bhubaneswar, Bolangir, and Puri to enhance tourism infrastructure and employment.
