Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced to double the one-time incentive for Anganwadi workers retiring from service in the State.
Anganwadi workers, Mini Anganwadi workers, and Anganwadi helpers retiring at the age of 62 years will now get double the amount they used to get as one-time incentive at the time of retirement, said an official press release.
The new one-time incentive amount will be implemented with retrospective effect from January 1, 2019.
This will benefit 1991 Anganwadi workers, Mini Anganwadi workers, and Anganwadi helpers retired till date. As many as 1.30 lakh Anganwadi workers of the State will benefit from the announcement.
The Chief Minister has also announced that Anganwadi workers, Mini Anganwadi workers, and Anganwadi helpers while in job and on being admitted to any Government Hospital or hospitals listed with the Government due to illness will get paid medical leave.
Anganwadi workers retiring from service will now get Rs 40,000 as one-time incentive instead of the earlier Rs 20,000.
Similarly, Mini Anganwadi workers retiring from service will now get Rs 30,000 as one-time incentive instead of Rs 15,000, while Anganwadi helpers will get Rs 20,000 as one-time incentive instead of earlier Rs 10,000.
