Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday attended the inauguration of the Shri Jagannath Temple at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, calling it “not merely the launch of an architectural structure, but a renaissance of faith, culture, and spiritual consciousness.”
Participating in the Ganga aarti, Majhi said the new temple would strengthen national unity by linking Odisha’s rich devotional heritage with the spiritual legacy of Prayagraj. “This temple has created a strong spiritual bridge between North and East India,” he added, seeking the blessings of Mahaprabhu.
Highlighting the significance of Lord Jagannath, the Chief Minister said the deity is a symbol not only of Odisha’s pride and identity but also resonates with the soul of the entire nation. “The Jagannath culture promotes equality, service, and harmony,” Majhi emphasized.
The CM also praised Swami Chidanand Saraswati Maharaj for his pivotal role in establishing the temple, describing it as a confluence of devotion, culture, and patriotism. He remembered Swamiji’s contributions to environmental conservation, Ganga cleanliness, and humanitarian service.
Referring to Prayagraj’s historical identity as a centre of penance, Majhi said the temple reaffirms India’s cultural unity and expressed hope that it would become a major spiritual hub, spreading the message of humanity, service, and peace.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Swami Chidanand Saraswati Maharaj, Uttar Pradesh Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh, Odisha Advocate General Pitambar Acharya, and hundreds of saints and devotees.
