Bhubaneswar: On the fifth day of the third phase of 5T School Transformation Programme, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today dedicated 323 high schools in five districts.
These include 62 high schools of Khordha district, 62 high schools of Bargarh district, 100 of Mayurbhanj district, 23 of Boudh district, and 76 of Nabarangpur district.
With this a total of 1816 transformed high schools have been dedicated in the five days of the third phase of the programme.
After the completion of the three phases, there will be a total of 6,132 ‘5T’ Transformed High Schools in the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that the public is involved at every level of the school transformation programme. Members of the school management committee, parents and the local community are involved in all stages of the transformation of the schools from design to implementation. They also know how much is being spent on the work. Therefore, school transformation is a perfect example of public participation, he said.
The Chief Minister said that the children could take this opportunity to showcase their talent and bring glory to themselves, their families and Odisha as well.
Minister of Science and Technology Ashok Panda from Khordha, Atabira MLA Snehangini Chhuriya from Bargarh, Minister of Women and Child Development Basanti Hembram from Mayurbhanj, Minister of Information and Public Relations Pradeep Kumar Amat from Boud and District Planning Committee Chairman and Dabugaon MLA Manohar Randhari from Nabarangpur were present in the programme.
Coordinating the programme 5T Secretary V K Pandian said that all the properties or assets that have been created in the transformation of the schools have been built with the money of the people of Odisha.
Therefore, he said that the Chief Minister hopes that all will maintain the property of the school like their own property. He further stated that all the schools of the state will be transformed by December 2023.
In this programme, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, School and Mass Education Department, Ashwathi S delivered the welcome address and the Special Project Director of OSEPA gave the vote of thanks. Principal Secretaries and Secretaries of various departments were present.
