Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida extended warm wishes to the people of the state on Raksha Bandhan, a festival that symbolizes unbreakable and eternal love and affection.

Taking to social media X, CM Majhi wrote, “Heartfelt greetings and best wishes to everyone on the occasion of the holy Raksha Bandhan and Rakhi Purnima.”

Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo also extended wishes on the sacred occasion, saying, “Warm wishes to all on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan. May the sacred bond between brothers and sisters grow deeper with each passing year, strengthened by love, trust, and tradition. With the blessings of Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath, let this festival carry the message of peace, harmony, and shared responsibility.”

Singh Deo also urged the state’s people to use swadeshi rakhi and gifts, saying, “Let us also embrace the spirit of Vocal for Local—choosing swadeshi rakhis and gifts to empower our artisans and build a self-reliant, vibrant Bharat.”

Through a video message, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida extended good wishes on Rakhi Purnima, emphasizing the importance of protecting sisters in their culture. She congratulated and wished happiness and prosperity to all mothers and sisters in the state.

Raksha Bandhan, celebrated across India, holds deep cultural and religious significance, marking the bond of affection between siblings. The festival is observed every year on the full moon day (Purnima) of the Hindu month of Sraban and is especially revered in Hindu tradition as a symbol of love, trust, and protection.
