Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Deputy Chief Ministers Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida have expressed their deep sorrow and condolences on the passing of former Chief Secretary Subas Pani.
In their tweets, they remembered Pani for his remarkable contributions to Odisha’s cultural heritage, literature, and governance.
CM Majhi described Pani’s demise as an irreparable loss and prayed for the peace of his soul. He highlighted Pani’s distinguished work as a researcher of Jagannath culture and a writer.
Taking to his X handle, CM Majhi wrote: “I am deeply saddened and heartbroken to hear about the demise of Subas Pani, the former Chief Secretary of the Odisha Government, a distinguished researcher of Jagannath culture, and a writer. His passing is an irreparable loss for all of us. I express my condolences to the bereaved family and pray to Lord Jagannath for the peace of the departed soul. Om Shanti.”
Deputy CM Deo remembered Pani as a renowned author, translator, composer, and creative visionary. He praised Pani’s scholarship on Jayadeva’s Geetagovinda and his legacy in literature, governance, and the arts.

Deputy CM Pravati Parida prayed for the eternal peace of his soul and offered condolences to his family and well-wishers, stating, “Deeply saddened to hear the news of the passing of the renowned Jagannath culture researcher, author, and former Chief Secretary of the Odisha Government, Shri Subas Pani. His demise is an irreparable loss to the Odia literary world. I pray to Lord Shri Jagannath for the eternal peace of his immortal soul and express my condolences to his well-wishers and family. Om Shanti.”
