Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s globally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik was felicitated today by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at the Lok Seva Bhawan for winning the prestigious ‘Sand Master’ Award in the United Kingdom.
Pattnaik became the first Indian ever to receive this honour at the International Sand Art Festival held in Weymouth, Dorset, UK. Recognizing this rare achievement, the Chief Minister praised Pattnaik as a “true asset of Odisha” and expressed hope that he would continue to bring greater glory to both Odisha and the nation in the future.
During the felicitation, Pattnaik presented the medal, certificate, and photographs of his sand art to the Chief Minister. In return, CM Majhi expressed delight and offered him a floral bouquet and a ceremonial shawl in recognition of his global achievement.
Earlier, President of India and Prime Minister had also extended their congratulations to Pattnaik on his milestone.
