Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Utkala Gourab Madhusudan Das, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today evening inaugurated ‘Utkala Gourab Madhusudan Museum & Interpretation Centre’ at the former’s birthplace-Satyabhamapur.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Patnaik said that Madhu babu was the symbol of Odia self-esteem. His life is the glorious saga of Odia self-esteem, he added.
Participating in the function through video-conferencing, Chief Minister, while offering his tribute to Utkala Gourab said that Satyabhamapur is a place of pilgrimage for all Odias.
He said that Utkala Gourab Madhusudan Museum & Interpretation Centre will provide inspiration to the young generation for protecting Odia self-esteem.
Patnaik informed that Satyabhamapur is being developed into an ‘adarsha’ (ideal) village and added that the government is taking steps to make the village an important tourist place.
Calling upon all to imbibe the ideals of Madhu babu and work together unitedly to make Odisha the best State, Patnaik said that there is no comparison to Madhu babu’s love and sacrifice for the Odia race.
“Madhu babu had sacrificed everything for the Odia race. For him, Odia self-esteem was above everything. He had never compromised on that. He shall remain immortal in every Odia’s heart for his contribution to the Odia race,” said Patnaik.
Throwing light on Madhu babu’s contribution to Odisha, the Chief Minister stated that his efforts for the formation of a State on the basis of language speaks of his far-sight. While several States have been formed on the basis of language after independence, at that time Odisha was the first State to have been formed on the basis of language.
Panchayati Raj Minister Pratap Jena, Salepur MLA Prasant Behera also spoke on the occasion.
Cuttack Collector Bhawani Charan Chaini gave the welcome address, while the president of Satyabhamapur Madhusudan Cultural Association Prasant Kumar Rout gave the vote of thanks.
Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra and senior officials joined the function through video-conferencing from Lokseba Bhavan.
