Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi visited the Water Resources Department at Rajiv Bhawan today, reviewing the department’s activities and progress.
During his visit, Majhi inspected the State Hydrological Data Center, examining the water situation in various reservoirs and rivers across the state. He was informed that the department manages water resources on a real-time basis, utilizing data from the center.
The Chief Minister expressed satisfaction with the department’s work and urged officials to continue their efforts with greater dedication to achieve the state government’s goals.
Speaking to the media, Majhi stated that the government aims to irrigate 15 lakh hectares of agricultural land by 2029-30 and ensure water reaches the tail-end of canals. He emphasized the need to make the department more efficient and smarter.
“Our target is to irrigate 15 lakh hectares of agricultural land by 2029-30. We’ll ensure water reaches the tail-end of canals. To achieve this, we’ll make our department more efficient and smarter.” stated CM Mohan Charan Majhi.
