Bhubaneswar: In a bid to resolve the ongoing potato supply crisis in Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi met with his West Bengal counterpart, Mamata Banerjee, in New Delhi on Saturday.
During their discussion, CM Majhi expressed concern over the shortage of potatoes in Odisha due to restricted supply from West Bengal, leading to a surge in prices and sought CM Banerjee’s intervention to ensure a steady supply of potatoes from West Bengal, which is one of the largest potato-producing states in the country.
The meeting was meant to find a solution to the potato supply crisis and ensure a smooth supply of potatoes to Odisha.
It is pertinent to mention that both the Chief Ministers are in New Delhi to attend the NITI Aayog meet, which is underway under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
