Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari are likely to conduct an aerial survey of flood-affected areas in Ganjam and Gajapati districts shortly to assess the damage caused by heavy rainfall triggered by Cyclone ‘Arnab’.
Heavy downpours continued to disrupt normal life in several parts of the state on Thursday, aggravating the situation in rain-hit areas.
Meanwhile, the state government has intensified rescue, evacuation and relief operations in Ganjam, Gajapati and other affected districts to deal with the situation arising from the heavy rainfall.
The proposed aerial survey is expected to provide the state leadership with a first-hand assessment of the impact of the adverse weather conditions and the situation on the ground.
