Bhubaneswar: The State Government has directed all higher education institutions to conduct classes and examinations during morning hours in anticipation of the upcoming summer heat wave.
In a letter to all universities and degree colleges, the Higher Education Department issued a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
According to the SOP, classes and examinations will be rescheduled preferably to morning hours to minimize exposure to heat-wave conditions. Outdoor activities will be restricted to afternoon sessions, and arrangements for drinking water and Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) will be ensured in all institutions.
Additionally, tube wells and pumps within the institutions will be repaired as needed, and first aid facilities will be made available in colleges and examination centres. The heads of institutions will also be responsible for sensitizing students on heat wave precautionary measures.
