Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cyber Security Campaign 2025, launched by the Chief Minister on October 18, 2025, at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, is making significant strides in spreading awareness about cyber security across the state. The campaign aims to educate citizens about cyber threats and promote safe online practices, and has already covered 27 districts, organising 202 awareness programs and engaging over 63,692 citizens.
The campaign’s innovative approach includes Cyber Raths, which were flagged off to reach citizens in urban and rural areas. Awareness programs such as rallies, seminars, workshops, and public meetings have been conducted in schools, colleges, and public places. Notably, Rayagada district has set up a ‘Cyber Museum’ to educate citizens about cybersecurity, while Angul district organized a ‘Lost Mobile Phone Return Fair’, returning 101 lost mobile phones to their owners.
The districts with the highest participation include Balasore with 8,200 participants, Sundargarh with 6,616 participants, Kalahandi with 6,235 participants, Bargarh with 6,150 participants, and Kandhamal with 6,080 participants. The campaign’s success is evident from the encouraging feedback from citizens, indicating a growing awareness and interest in cybersecurity across Odisha. The initiative is expected to create a safer online environment by involving more people in the coming days.
