Cuttack: A 1990 batch senior IPS officer, Arun Sarangi, took charge as In-Chagre Director General of Police of Odisha on Sunday afternoon. A notification was published in this regard by the State Home Department on Saturday.
Sarangi is the Special DG of Police, Training & Director, BPSPA, and will remain in the additional charge of DG of Police, Odisha until the regular DGP joins.
Before assuming charge, Sarangi garlanded the Shaheed statue in the Odisha Police headquarters. Outgoing DGP Sunil Bansal formally handed over the charge of In-Charge DGP, Odisha, at a simple ceremony in Cuttack today. Many senior police officers felicitated Sarangi after taking charge.
After assuming charge, Sarangi declared that law enforcement would be his top priority.
