Odisha Extends Chit Fund Scam Refund Deadline To March 31

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Finance Department has extended the deadline for refunding small depositors affected by the chit fund scam to March 31, 2026. The earlier deadline was January 31, 2026.

This extension benefits two categories of small depositors:

– Those who deposited up to Rs. 10,000 and are recommended by the Commission of Inquiry

– Those who deposited up to Rs. 8,000 with Golden Land Developers Group of Companies and didn’t receive a refund in the first phase

To check their application status, depositors can visit the official website of their district and check on www.opid.odisha.gov.in using affidavit number, application number, etc.

To get their money back, depositors should approach the concerned Revenue Inspector with Identity documents (Aadhaar card, Voter ID card, Driving License, PAN card, etc.), Original Money Receipts, Bank account details (Account Number, Bank Name, IFSC)

Refunds will be processed within 15 days, the department stated.
