Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has extended the deadline for completing the e-KYC process for ration card beneficiaries till January 31.

Food Supplies Minister Krushna Chandra Patra told the media on Sunday that only 85 per cent of eligible individuals have fulfilled their e-KYC requirements so far. The extension will help the remaining over 50 lakh beneficiaries to complete the e-KYC process.

He has asked the eligible beneficiaries to complete their e-KYC at their local Electronic Public Service (EPS) outlets or ration distribution centres. The minister said that new ration cards will be issued after all eligible PDS beneficiaries have completed their e-KYC process.

The government officials have been instructed to assist with e-KYC procedures both within the state and for Odia residents presently living elsewhere in the country.

Recently, government officials reached out to some Odia people in Goa and completed the e-KYC.
