Bhubaneswar: The First Assistant Fire Officers’ Conference 2025 began at the Odisha Fire and Disaster Response Academy (OFDRA) in Bhubaneswar, inaugurated by Dr. Sudhanshu Sarangi, Director General of Fire & Emergency Services. The two-day conference, scheduled for June 7-8, 2025, aims to enhance the leadership and operational preparedness of Odisha’s frontline fire officers.
Themed “Preparedness, Leadership & Resilience,” the conference brings together Assistant Fire Officers from across the state to discuss operational leadership, strategic response, personnel welfare, and institutional best practices. Dr. Sarangi emphasized the importance of equipping Assistant Fire Officers with competence, clarity, and compassion to respond effectively to emergency scenarios.
The conference features expert sessions, including one by retired IAS officer Pradeep Kumar Jena, on governance, resilience, and the evolving role of frontline officers. A technology exhibition showcasing state-of-the-art fire safety and disaster management solutions is also part of the event.
The conference is expected to empower Assistant Fire Officers to respond effectively to emergencies and enhance public safety across the state. It marks a significant step towards strengthening the leadership and operational capabilities of Odisha’s fire services.
