Bhubaneswar: Odisha Fire Service will deploy mobile Quick Response Unit vehicles in cities and towns of the State. These mobile units can access narrow bylanes and congested areas with ease where bigger Fire Engines cannot reach or reach with much difficulty, DG Fire Service, Santosh Upadhyay said.
The quick response units will attend to narrow bylanes of Units in Bhubaneswar and areas like Chhatra Bazar and other Sahis of Cuttack. This is just an example, these mobile vans will be very suited for similar areas in urban areas across Odisha, Upadhyay added.
In the pilot phase, a single unit will be deployed during evening hours (6 pm to 9:30 pm). This initiative is a part of the outreach programme to provide effective public service under Mo Sarkar and 5T Initiative.
“This kind of provision is available in Mumbai and will now be functional in our State. We will be putting five units exclusively for Kalpana and Secretariat fire stations. Similarly, five units will be deployed in Cuttack,” Upadhyay said.
