Bhubaneswar: Odisha Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain has warned of strong action against black marketeers.
“The government is fully on alert. Our Chief Minister is keeping a close watch on the situation over the possible cyclone. As per his instruction, we have warned that if there is any kind of black marketing we will deal it with a strong hand,” said Swain.
He added that letters have been issued to District Collectors to keep a close watch over the situation and take stringent action against anyone indulging in black marketing in any form.
The Minister appealed to the public to desist from panic buying while informing that there is sufficient stock of essential commodities in the State.
“I will appeal to the public with folded hands to desist from panic buying,” appealed Swain.
The Minister chaired a review meeting of the Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Department in view of the possible cyclone.
