Bhubaneswar: As many as 34 forest fire incidents were reported on Wednesday as the country witnessed 165 such wild blaze, according to Forest survey of Inda reports.
Such incidents have been reported from various forests including Chitrakonda, Balimela, Jeypore, Narayanpatna, Kashiput, Tokiri, Gudari of Rayagada, Biswanathpur of Kalahandi, Belghar, Baliguda, of Kandhamal, Damapada of Khurdha and several places at Khandapada of Nayagarh district.
Forests in southern Odisha witnessed most of the fire cases. The impact of forest fire was also felt in Baripada and Rourkela circles.
As per the reports of Forest Survey of India, forest fire incidents were reported 22 places in Chhattisgarh, 20 places in Jahrkhand, 21 places in Andhra Pradesh, 14 places in Uttarakhand and 10 in Mozora, till Wenesday afternoon.
Odisha stood second in the row in forest fire in the last one week.
Forest officials said that efforts are being taken to douse the flames in the forest. Extinguishing the blaze in the core of a forest is a difficult case.
