Bhubaneswar: The state government has provided Z+ category security to both the Governor and the Chief Minister, while the Leader of the Opposition is receiving Y+ category security.
This information was shared by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in the Odisha Legislative Assembly on Monday, in response to a query raised by Congress legislator Pabitra Saunta.
In his written reply, the Chief Minister clarified that Governor Raghubar Das and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi both have Z+ category security, while the Leader of the Opposition Naveen Patnaik, is assigned Y+ category security.
Furthermore, no other officials in the state are receiving Z+ or Y+ category security.
It is important to note that in October this year, the state government downgraded the security of Leader of the Opposition and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik from Z to Y category.
