Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has heightened security measures at key locations in the state amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan. Chief Minister Mohan Majhi announced that the state government will facilitate the safe return of Odisha students pursuing studies in other states, particularly from Jammu.
A help desk has been set up at the office of the resident commissioner in New Delhi to assist students. Those returning from other states will be escorted to Bhubaneswar.
“The government will facilitate the return of Odisha students pursuing studies in other states, especially from Jammu. A help desk has been set up at the office of the resident commissioner in New Delhi. Our students are being brought back from other states to Delhi and then will be brought to Bhubaneswar,” Majhi said.
The government has also taken note of potential security threats, including possible attacks from the Bay of Bengal side, targeting important places like Chandipur and Puri. In response, both the central and state governments have tightened security measures.
“There is a possibility of an attack from the Bay of Bengal side on important places like Chandipur and Puri. The central government and state government have tightened security,” Majhi added.
A review meeting is scheduled to discuss the situation in detail and determine the next course of action.
