Bhubaneswar: Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, the Odisha government has cancelled all forms of leave for Indian Police Service (IPS) officers with immediate effect. The directive will remain in force until further notice.

The order was issued by Additional Secretary to the Government Trilochan Majhi through a formal communication addressed to the Director General of Police (DGP), Odisha.

“I am directed to state that, in view of the emerging situation in the country, it has been decided that no IPS officer will be allowed to proceed on leave, training, or Leave Travel Concession (LTC) until further orders,” the notification stated.

Additionally, officers have been instructed not to leave their headquarters without prior approval from the concerned Director General (DG) or Special DG.

“No IPS Officer should also be allowed to leave Headquarters without prior permission of the concern DG/Spl. DG,” the notification added.
