Bhubaneswar: The state government has decided to take strict action against inefficient officials and employees who fail to perform their duties according to the rules.

In a recent secretarial meeting, it was decided that a thorough review of all officials and employees will be conducted, and those found incompetent will face forced retirement.

The Chief Secretary’s office has asked all departments to submit data on inefficient officials and employees by August 7. The data will include details of officials and employees who are unable to perform their duties.

According to the General Administration Department’s circular dated September 24, 2019, inefficient officials will be compulsorily retired from service. The government will take strict action against those who fail to perform their duties, and the Chief Secretary’s office will oversee the implementation of the decision.

The move is expected to bring about a significant change in the way the bureaucracy functions and ensure that only efficient and capable officials are retained in service.
