Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Thursday effected a major reshuffle in the IPS cadre across senior and junior ranks. A notification to this effect was issued by the Home Department.
As per the order, 1995 batch IPS officer Dr. Santosh Bala has been appointed Director, State Forensic Science Laboratory. 2002 batch IPS officer S. Praveen Kumar has been posted as Inspector General of Police (Provisioning), while his batchmate Gajbhiye Satish Kumar Iswardas will take charge as IG, Special Armed Police. Another 2002 batch officer, Sanjay Kumar Kaushal (2003), has been posted as IG, Economic Offences Wing (EOW).
In the 2007 batch, Awinash Kumar has been appointed Director, State Crime Records Bureau, while 2008 batch officer Dr. Satyajit Naik has been posted as DIG, Central Range. 2011 batch officer Pinak Mihsra has been assigned as DIG, Eastern Range.
Among the younger officers, 2013 batch IPS officer Parmar Smit Parshottamdas has been posted as SP, Crime Branch. 2014 batch IPS officers Vivekanand Sharma and Prateek Singh will take charge as SP, Khordha and SP, Puri, respectively. 2015 batch officer Pratyush Diwaker will serve as SP, Balasore, while 2016 batch officer Vinit Agrawal has been posted as SP, Cuttack (Rural).
From the 2018 batch, Raj Prasad has been posted as SP, Special Branch. Among the more recent officers, 2019 batch officer Gundala Reddy Raghavendra has been appointed SP, Jharsuguda. 2021 batch IPS officers have also received key field postings: Ankit Kumar Verma (SP, Jagatsinghpur), Amritpal Singh (SP, Nuapada), and Amritpal Kaur (SP, Sundargarh).
In addition, OPS officer Bhawani Shankar Udgata has been posted as SP, Railway, Cuttack.
