Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government’s Department of School and Mass Education on Tuesday announced that candidates who have completed the two-year B.Ed in Special Education course are now eligible to appear for the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) under Category II.

Earlier, only candidates with a one-year B.Ed in Special Education qualification were allowed to sit for the examination.

The revised eligibility is expected to provide a wider opportunity for aspiring special education teachers across the state.

The Department stated that the move aims to strengthen inclusive education by increasing the pool of qualified teachers in schools for children with special needs.

Candidates meeting the new eligibility criteria can apply in the upcoming OTET cycle as per the official notification.
