Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Tuesday invited applications for the Mukhyamantri Research Fellowship 2026-27 under the Mukhyamantri Research and Innovation Programme (MRIP) to promote research and innovation among Ph.D. scholars in state public universities.
According to a notification issued by the Higher Education Department, eligible candidates can submit their applications online through the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal.
Applicants must be permanent residents of Odisha and should have enrolled for a Ph.D. in a state public university between April 1, 2024, and July 19, 2026, under an approved research guide to be eligible for the fellowship.
The department clarified that research scholars who were selected for the fellowship under MRIP-2025 but are not registered on the SAMS portal will not be eligible to apply again.
As per the schedule, the online Common Application Form (CAF) became available on the SAMS portal from 4 pm on July 7. The last date for submission of applications is 11:45 pm on July 30.
Candidates will be allowed to edit their submitted application forms between 11 am and 11:45 pm on July 31. The applicant data will be forwarded to the Odisha State Higher Education Council (OSHEC) by 11 am on August 5.
The department said the schedule for document verification of eligible candidates at OSHEC will be notified later on the SAMS portal.
