Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Transport Department has announced a one-time settlement scheme for vehicle owners who have pending e-challans for Motor Vehicle Act violations. Under this scheme, defaulters will be eligible for a 50% discount on fines for traffic violations committed on or before July 31, 2025.

The scheme applies to various offences under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. However, challans with prosecution reports submitted to designated courts are not eligible for this scheme.

This initiative aims to encourage safer driving habits and efficiently recover outstanding fines. Vehicle owners can settle their pending fines at a reduced rate, avoiding future complications and legal action.
