Odisha Govt Sanctions Rs 2.57 Cr For Observance Of Kartik Brata By Habisiyalis

Bhubaneswar: Odisha government on Tuesday approved an outlay of Rs 2,57,50,000 for habisiyalis to observe Kartik Brata in the holy Hindu month of Kartik.

Odia Language, Literature & Culture Minister Suryabanshi Suraj has said that in addition to sanctioning of the amount all facilities and arrangements will be made for observance of Kartik Brata by habisiyalis.

Minister Suraj  informed that the government has planned to take various steps for streamlining arrangements for the month-long safe stay of habisiyalis  at various habisiyali centers in Puri, darshan of Lord Jagannath’s darshan, serving of Mahaprasad, Bhajan-Kirtan and other cultural programs.

Extensive arrangements will be made to ensure that the habisiyalis do not face any kind of difficulty during the holy month of Kartik, Suraj added.

Worth mentioning, the holy month of Kartik commences from October 18 this year. During this period number of pilgrims increases in Puri and the government ensures arrangement of vehicles for transportation of habisiyalis for darshan of Lord Jagannath, deployment of volunteers, maintenance of law and order, sanitation, drinking water, electricity supply, etc.
