Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has sown 18.75 lakh palm seeds across 30 districts this year, as part of its initiative to save lives from lightning and thunder, informed Forest, Environment, and Climate Change Minister Ganesh Ram Singkhuntia.
In a written response to a query by BJD MLA from Athgarh, Ranendra Pratap Swain, in the Odisha Assembly, Minister Singkhuntia stated that Rs 510.96 crore has been spent on this initiative.
Singkhuntia further mentioned that 22,900 palm seeds have been sown at 50 locations under the Athgarh forest division. The sowing has been carried out by the Athgarh forest division, he added.
