Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has incurred an expenditure of Rs 1.24 crore in the 2021-22 financial year for providing financial assistance to students under KALIA Scholarship.
Replying to a query by BJD member from Khandapara Soumya Ranjan Patnaik in Odisha Assembly today, Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain informed that a total of Rs 1.24 crore has been spent by the State government in 2021-22 financial year for providing KALIA Scholarship to 765 students across the State.
Swain said that financial assistance is provided to children of beneficiaries of the KALIA scheme with the objective of undertaking higher studies in government professional and technical institutions of Odisha and empowering their families as well.
KALIA scholarship is being provided after the implementation of the State Common Scholarship Portal from the 2021-22 fiscal, he clarified.
