Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has decided to organize the ‘Kartik Brata’ programme for ‘habisialis’ (elderly widow devotees who observe Kartik Brata at Sri Jagannath temple during the holy Hindu month of Kartik) at Puri this year.
The programme will be organised this year after a gap of two years. It was suspended on account of the Covid pandemic in 2020 and 2021.
A person in the know of things said that arrangements are being made to accommodate 2,500 habisialis.
Registration for the purpose will commence from September 10th and close on 25th.
A notification in this connection will be published on September 8.
Kartik Brata will start from October 10 this year.
Interested habisialis can register themselves at the office of the Collector in their respective districts.
Covid Vaccine’s precautionary dose will be mandatory for the registrants.
The ‘Kartik Brata’ programme is most likely to be inaugurated by the Chief Minister.
