Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati on Sunday flagged off 1,500 dry ration kits for flood-affected families in Bhadrak and Baleshwar districts from Lok Bhavan here.
The relief materials have been provided by the Sri Sathya Sai Trust for Universal Welfare (SSSTFUW) under its flagship humanitarian initiative, Sri Sathya Sai Divyaamritam (SSSDA). The flag-off programme was attended by First Lady of Odisha Jayashree Kambhampati and Commissioner-cum-Secretary to the Governor Roopa Roshan Sahoo.
Each ration kit contains essential food and household items, including rice, pulses, edible oil, sugar, wheat flour, salt, chuda (flattened rice) and soap. The kits will be distributed among families whose homes and livelihoods have been affected by the recent floods in the two coastal districts.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Kambhampati appreciated the trust’s humanitarian initiative and said timely relief assistance plays a vital role in helping flood-affected families rebuild their lives and return to normalcy.
SSSTFUW, a registered public charitable trust headquartered in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, has been engaged in various welfare activities across the country.
