Bhubaneswar: In a major step towards strengthening citizen-centric urban governance, the Housing & Urban Development Department has announced a “Dedicated Special Drive” for the resolution of all pending grievances across Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in the State.

The five-day drive, scheduled from 21st July to 25th July 2025, will focus on prompt redressal of complaints received from citizens through various platforms including the Jana Sunani,Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System  ( CPGRAMS ), ULB-level helpdesks, and other communication channels.

All Commissioners of Municipal Corporations and Executive Officers of Municipalities and NACs have been directed to mobilise necessary teams, streamline grievance-handling mechanisms, and ensure that all backlog grievances are addressed within this period.

This initiative reflects the State Government’s unwavering commitment to responsive and accountable urban service delivery and aims to restore public trust through the timely resolution of issues related to sanitation, water supply, street lighting, drainage, waste management, building plan approvals, and other civic services.

The Department has further instructed all ULBs to submit an Action Taken Report (ATR) on the drive by 29th July 2025, highlighting the number of grievances resolved, system-level improvements made, and citizen feedback received.

Speaking on the initiative, a senior official from the Department stated, “This special drive is part of our continued efforts to deliver quality services and ensure last-mile governance in urban areas.”

For further updates, citizens are encouraged to visit their local ULB office or check official communication channels.
