Bhubaneswar: A delegation of journalists from Bhubaneswar, who were assigned to cover the Rath Yatra in Puri, met Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja to discuss the problems they faced during the event. The journalists submitted a memorandum highlighting the issues they encountered on the day of Sri Gundicha.
The Chief Secretary expressed distress over the incidents and assured the journalists that appropriate action would be taken after due consideration. The journalists, led by senior members of the media fraternity, including Sanat Mishra, Pradyumna Kumar Mahanty, and Bhagavata Tripathi, among others, also met the Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, and requested immediate action.
The meeting aimed to address the problems faced by the journalists and seek redressal for the difficulties they encountered while covering the Rath Yatra. The journalists’ delegation emphasised the need for a safe and conducive environment for media personnel to perform their duties.
