Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Chief Electoral Officer’s office on Wednesday launched a three-day statewide special campaign to facilitate inclusion of eligible voters who were left out of the electoral roll during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026, besides enrolling newly eligible young voters.
The campaign will continue till October 9, according to an official release.
Citizens whose names were deleted from the electoral roll during the SIR process despite being eligible to vote can approach their respective Booth Level Officer (BLO) to know the required procedure, forms and documents. Their applications will be examined and verified under the prescribed electoral rules before inclusion in the roll.
The drive also targets young men and women who attained the age of 18 years by October 1, 2026, subject to fulfilment of other eligibility conditions. They can apply for enrolment through Form-6 with their respective BLOs.
As part of the campaign, BLOs are conducting door-to-door visits to identify eligible persons who may have been left out and assist them with the enrolment process. The data collected during the exercise is being verified at the district level by Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) and BLOs.
The CEO’s office said Booth Level Agents of political parties are also participating in the campaign by assisting with booth-level electoral roll processes and spreading awareness about enrolment.
The office has urged eligible citizens to verify their names in the electoral roll and approach their BLOs if their names are missing or if they are eligible for fresh enrolment.
The campaign, officials said, is aimed at ensuring that no eligible voter is excluded from the electoral roll and that the roll remains accurate, updated and inclusive.
