Bhubaneswar: Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan on Monday inaugurated a new railway overbridge connecting Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur districts.
The bridge, built at a cost of Rs 60.965 crore, aims to improve communication between the two districts and alleviate traffic congestion.
Law and Revenue Minister inaugurated the 511-meter-long bridge, which will reduce travel time and facilitate smoother movement of students, working professionals, patients, and senior citizens. The bridge is expected to benefit approximately 100,000 people daily.
The newly inaugurated bridge connects Nuabazar to Press Chhak, facilitating easier movement between Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur districts.
During the inauguration of the bridge, the Minister stated that the state government is committed to developing high-quality and sustainable infrastructure to drive Odisha’s growth. As Odisha has become a hub of attraction across the country, such advanced connectivity systems will play a crucial role in connecting people from all corners. The government’s focus is on building infrastructure that will benefit the state’s citizens and promote overall development.
The inauguration ceremony of the new railway overbridge was attended by several notable figures, including Cuttack MP Bhartruhari Mahtab, Cuttack Sadar MLA Prakash Chandra Sethi, Cuttack-Choudwar MLA Souvic Biswal, Cuttack-Barabati MLA Sofia Firdous, Mahanga MLA Sarada Prasad Pradhan, Cuttack District Collector Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde, social worker Nayan Mohanty, actor Sritam Das and Superintending Engineer of Public Works Department Jyoti Ranjan Pati.
