Bhubaneswar: Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari on Tuesday urged residents not to pay bribes, assuring them that government services will be delivered without corruption.

Speaking to the media, Pujari said both those giving and those taking bribes are equally responsible under the law.

“Even in emergency situations, people should not pay money to get their work done. I want to assure all residents of Odisha that your work may take some time, but do not give anyone a bribe,” he said.

The minister highlighted several channels through which citizens can report grievances or seek help. He said people could contact him directly in Bhubaneswar, via WhatsApp, or by telephone. “Even if you give a missed call, I will call back. Complaints can also be lodged through these channels,” Pujari added.

He also praised the vigilance department for its proactive role in curbing corruption.

“Many government officials involved in bribery have already been caught. The vigilance department is doing excellent work, and our government will not let anyone involved in corruption escape,” he said.

Pujari appealed to the public to report any officials demanding bribes. “If the issue involves the Revenue & Disaster Management Department, complaints can be sent directly to me; otherwise, the vigilance department should be informed,” he said.

The minister’s appeal is part of a broader drive to promote transparency, ensure efficient delivery of government services, and strengthen public confidence in anti-corruption measures.
