Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls has entered its final phase, with only four days remaining for completion of the statewide exercise. The Election Commission machinery has intensified efforts to ensure full coverage of voters and completion of all pending work within the stipulated timeline.

According to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), enumeration forms have so far been distributed to 99.93 per cent of the state’s voters, covering 3,33,07,545 electors. Officials said the remaining four days will be utilised to achieve 100 per cent distribution across the state.

The voter list revision campaign is being carried out extensively at the grassroots level, with election officials reaching out to voters in every corner of Odisha.

Alongside form distribution, the administration is also focusing on digitisation of voter data to enhance transparency and accuracy in the electoral rolls. Data digitisation has been completed for 93.02 per cent of voters, covering 3,10,68,884 electors, the CEO’s office said.

To strengthen participation and ensure that no eligible voter is left out of the revision process, coordination meetings involving Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and Booth Level Agents (BLAs) were held across all Assembly constituencies in the state on Wednesday.

The Chief Electoral Officer’s office stated that the primary objective of the exercise is to prepare a clean, updated and error-free electoral roll. Officials attributed the substantial progress achieved ahead of schedule to the dedicated efforts of field-level staff and the cooperation of voters.

The remaining tasks will be completed on a war footing over the next four days, officials said, adding that coordinated efforts by election personnel and administrative teams have played a crucial role in advancing the Special Intensive Revision campaign aimed at making the electoral process more robust, transparent and up to date.
