Bhubaneswar: A Review Meeting of the Nodal Officers of ‘Odisha Right to Public Services Act, 2012’ across 32 Departments of the Government of Odisha was held today at the Lok Seva Bhavan in Bhubaneswar to assess the implementation and progress of the ‘Odisha Right to Public Services Act (ORTPSA), 2012’.
The meeting was chaired by the Executive Director, Center for Modernizing Government Initiative (CMGI) Vineet Bharadwaj.
The agenda for the Review Meeting included updates on the application status of ORTPSA for the period from April 2024 to 2nd May 2025, integration of services with the Central Monitoring System (CMS) Dashboard, provision for issuance of Acknowledgement receipt to all the Applicants and addition/deletion of services under the Act. Officials, Process Re-engineering and Technical Teams from NIC, OCAC, and CMGI presented action plans to streamline service delivery.
Furthermore, discussions also focused on developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for notified ORTPSA services and capacity-building initiatives by institutions like Gopabandhu Academy of Administration (GAA), State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD & PR), and Awareness campaign by National Service Scheme (NSS) in association with Higher Education Department.
Speaking on the occasion, Executive Director CMGI Vineet Bharadwaj said that the Government is committed to ensure timely, transparent, and accountable service delivery to citizens under ORTPSA through inter-departmental collaboration and boosting digital infrastructure.
Former Information Commissioner and Mentor CYSD Jagadananda stressed on empathetic governance and the need for IEC activities to sensitise citizens regarding the provisions of the ORTPS Act. He assured that being the Resource Support Agency for the implementation of Odisha Right to Public Services Act (ORTPSA) in the State, CYSD will associate with more and more NGOs and Civil Society Organisations towards creating a massive outreach programme on ORTPSA in the coming days.
Additional Secretary, GA&PG Department Debabrata Mallick, Project Coordinator, CMGI Pinaki Mohanty, OSD CMGI, Samarendra Sarangi, OSD to Chief Secretary, Ansuman Rath and other officials from CMGI and GA&PG Department were present on the occasion.
