Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Pavilion at the India International Trade Fair has become a valuable platform for the local products of rural communities. Visiting the pavilion today, Odisha Government’s Rural Development Secretary and senior administrative officer Sanjay Kumar Singh said, In tune with this year’s theme which is local to global and vocal for local, we have given focus on fully locally made products which needs global attention.”
Singh further said that, 2023 will be celebrated as Millet Year. Odisha Govt has already started numerous activities to promote millets made foods. Here, Odisha has come up with various millet made products including snacks and biscuits.
Similarly, Odisha has come up with its State sponsored handlooms sarees with diligently crafted fabrics which provides livelihood to contless rural artisans. During the visit, Sri Singh reviewed the footfals of the Pavilion and took stock of the sale status of products.
The Pavilion also witnessed the presence of Dr Arvind Padhee, Principal Secretary of Odisha Agriculture and Farmers’ empowerment Department. Dr Padhee also interacted with participants of the Pavilion and encouraged them for being a part of one of India’s largest international fairs.
It may be mentioned here that, the IITF which is being organized every year to promote trade and business is witnessed by thousands of participants from India and abroad. Odisha Pavilion is crafted with terracotta theme having temple textured cultural look.
