Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police sportspersons have achieved remarkable success in the prestigious World Police and Fire Games 2025 held in Birmingham, USA. Three young sportspersons from Odha have made the country and the state proud with their exceptional performance.
Constable Ashok Dandasena won two gold medals in the men’s category of 5000 meters and 10000 meters and a silver medal in the 400×400 relay. He had earlier won gold medals in the 800 meters and 1500 meters races.
Constable Sabita Toppo won the gold medal in the 100m hurdles and the bronze medal in the 400m hurdles of the women’s section. Constable Sushmita Tiga won the bronze medal in the 400x400m relay of the women’s section and had earlier won the gold medal in the 1500m race and the silver medal in the 800m race.
The determination, strength, and hard work of these young players have brought glory to Odisha Police. State Director General of Police Yogesh Bahadur Khurania congratulated the young sportsmen on their success and wished them a bright future. The DGP praised their extraordinary sportsmanship and dedication, which has enhanced the reputation of Odisha Police.
