Bhubaneswar: A two-day workshop on the implementation of the Energy Conservation and Building Construction Code (ECSBC) in the Eastern States was successfully organized by the Energy Efficiency Bureau (BEE), Ministry of Power, Government of India, and the Chief Engineer (Electricity) and Chief Electricity Inspector and SDA, Energy Department, Government of Odisha. The workshop took place on July 3 and 4 at Bhubaneswar.
The main objective of the ECSBC is to promote energy efficiency, energy conservation, and the use of renewable energy and environmentally friendly construction in building construction. The code applies to buildings with a combined load of more than 100 kW.
The workshop was attended by Vishal Kumar Deb, Principal Secretary, Energy Department, and Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary, the Housing and Urban Development Department, Commerce and Transport Department, as the Chief Guests. Parvatanalini Samal, Director, Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), and representatives of SDA from five Eastern States, including Odisha, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Bihar, participated in the event.
Pyarimohan Mishra, Chief Engineer (Electricity) and Principal Inspector of Electricity, Energy Department (Odisha), highlighted the benefits and successful implementation of the ECSBC in his welcome address. The workshop aimed to promote energy efficiency and sustainable building practices in the region.
