Bhubaneswar: Under the Nasha Mukth Bharat Abhiyan campaign, a mass drug-free oath was taken today at the State Police Headquarters in Cuttack and simultaneously at all police stations and district police offices across 35 police districts of the state.
Senior officers and employees of the police department participated in the oath-taking ceremony organized at the State Police Headquarters. They took a strong resolution to protect themselves, their families and society from the ill effects of drugs.
All personnel pledged to completely abstain from drug use and to create awareness among friends, family members and the public about the harmful effects of drugs. They also resolved to play an active role in making Odisha drug-free.
Highlighting the role of youth in building a drug-free society, officials said emphasis is being placed on spreading the anti-drug message throughout the state through the campaign. The police administration has expressed a strong commitment to building a healthy, safe and drug-free Odisha.
The oath-taking ceremony at the state police headquarters was attended by State Director General of Police Vinaytosh Mishra, Additional Director General of Police (Modernization) Soumendra Priyadarshi, Additional Director General of Police (Headquarters) Pratik Mohanty, IGP (Personnel) Praveen Kumar, IGP (Central Range) Satyajit Nayak, DIGP (Provisioning) Charan Singh Meena, DIGP (Personnel) Jugal Kishore Banoth, and other senior officers and employees of the police headquarters.
They collectively took the oath of abstinence. Similar pledge ceremonies were held in all districts, with police officers urging citizens to join the movement against drug abuse.
