Bhubaneswar: A special commendation letter from Union Home Minister Amit Shah, recognising the significant success of the Odisha Police in curbing Left Wing Extremism (LWE) and strengthening the state’s internal security framework, was presented to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan on Saturday.
The commendation letter was handed over to the Chief Minister by Odisha Director General of Police Yogesh Bahadur Khurania.
The recognition acknowledges the Odisha Police’s sustained efforts in combating Left Wing Extremism through coordinated security operations, intelligence-driven policing and measures aimed at reinforcing the state’s internal security mechanism.
Receiving the commendation, the Chief Minister congratulated the officers and personnel of the Odisha Police for their dedication, courage and sacrifice in maintaining peace and security across the state.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to public safety, Majhi said ensuring the security of every citizen remains a top priority of the state government. He affirmed that the government’s zero-tolerance policy against extremism and threats to internal security would continue with full resolve in the days ahead.
