Bhubaneswar: Following the signing of an agreement between the Government of India and the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Odisha, on January 13th, preparations are underway to ensure that the people of Odisha can swiftly benefit from the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY). Through this integrated plan, residents will have access to advanced healthcare services in approximately 30,000 hospitals across the country, marking a significant transformation in Odisha’s healthcare sector.
The State’s Department of Health and Family Welfare has begun integrating AB-PMJAY with the Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana to deliver enhanced healthcare benefits. As part of this initiative, a comprehensive training program for various stakeholders, including Pradhan Mantri Arogyamitras, has been launched.
On the first day of the training program, 180 personnel from 60 hospitals received training from master trainers. The sessions covered critical aspects such as IT platform usage, transaction management systems, grievance redressal processes, and other key components of AB-PMJAY. These training sessions will be extended to all stakeholders from government and private hospitals across Odisha.
The training aims to ensure the seamless implementation of the integrated healthcare scheme, enabling beneficiaries to access services without delay. Pradhan Mantri Arogyamitras, who will play a pivotal role in assisting patients, are also being equipped with the necessary skills to deliver quality support.
The training program was facilitated by the Nodal Officer of the State Health Assurance Society (SHAS), Dr. Bishnu Prasad Mohapatra, alongside Dr. Rashmiranjan Mohapatra, Dr. Arun Mohapatra, and Sarat Mishra.
This initiative is expected to bring about a radical shift in Odisha’s healthcare delivery, ensuring better health outcomes for citizens while leveraging the national framework of Ayushman Bharat.
